2022 Summer School Rules Form
Daily attendance is expected. Students are only allowed one absence. Two absences, excused or unexcused, are excessive and will result in withdrawal from the summer session with grade penalty (W/F). There are no pre-arranged absences in Summer School. Students who leave school early for any reason will be counted absent. Students do NOT have to be called in, but a note is required from the parent and/or guardian explaining the nature of the absence. The note should be given directly to the teacher upon the day of return, not the front office. If a note is not given to the teacher on the day of return, the absence will be considered unexcused. School work missed due to an excused absence may be made up, but school work due to an unexcused absence may not be made up. Students may not be absent the last day of Summer School during either session due to final exams.
Appointments: Any appointments must be scheduled after 1:30 p.m. each day. Doctor/Dentist visits are not to be made during school hours. Students who leave school early for any reason, including health related issues, will be counted absent.
Late/Tardy: Students who are tardy must report directly to class; they do not report to the office. Teachers are to keep records of tardiness. A student who is tardy to class 3 times (including tardy from breaks) will be withdrawn from class with grade penalty (W/F). Teachers are not expected to call a student’s parents related to daily attendance.
Regular attendance is expected for in person classes. All students must arrange their vacation and employment schedules to permit attendance on all scheduled days. Students are only allowed one absence. Two absences, excused or unexcused, are excessive and will result in withdrawal from the class with a grade penalty (W/F). Students may not be absent on the last day of Summer School due to final exams.
Bus service is not door-to-door. The pick-up and drop-off locations for Summer School will be at a MSDWT middle and or elementary school. Additional information to come.
Student drivers will need to enter campus off Westfield Blvd. Park in the lot outside of doors 4 and 5. The East entrance off 86th street will be closed to all vehicle traffic from 8:00 am to 8:30 am. Please use Westfield Blvd for access to campus. Please anticipate traffic.
Parking Lot: Students are not to be in any cars, nor are they to be in the parking lots during their breaks. Failure to comply with this request will result in the student being withdrawn with grade penalty (W/F) from Summer School. Students are not to be outside the building at any time without permission from an administrator.
