LOVE ON A LEASH THERAPY DOGS – MAY VISIT DATES: The amazing therapy dogs will be in the lower student center, during lunch periods. On the following dates. May 14 (Tues) 11:25-12:55pm & May 16 (Thurs) 12:30 p.m.-2:00 p.m. Come and reduce your stress by chillin’ with the pups!!

MAY IS MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS MONTH: On May, 14, 15 & 16 – during lunches -Your School Social workers, The Bring Change 2 Mind Club, & National Association on Mental Illness and Teen Responders- will have resources and activities to destress, play, and take care of your mental health. In Addition, the therapy dogs and Yoga by Creative Nature will be here for some of the days. See you there.

THEATRE: Come support our Theatre students in our TWO Spring Plays Opening THIS WEEK! The plays are “subText”, a comedy that navigates dating in the digital age and “In the Middle of Grand Central Station”, a drama loosely based on a true story of a 14-yo girl who runs away from home and finds herself living at Grand Central Station, navigating homelessness, mental health, and a dysfunctional family. Tickets are $7 for students and $12 for adults! Faculty and Staff discount code is NCTEACHER for a free ticket! SubText will play Thursday May 9th @5:30pm, Friday May 10th @8pm, and Saturday May 11th @4pm! In the Middle of Grand Central Station will play on Thursday, May 9th @8pm, Friday May 10th @5:30pm, and Saturday May 11th @7pm in the Birge Auditorium! Hope to see you there!”

THE BUTLER WAY LEADERSHIP CAMP: is scheduled to take place from June 10-13 at Butler University. 5TH POWER LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE: The Center for Leadership Development’s 5th Power Leadership Conference is open for registration. According to CLD’s leaders, this is an opportunity for high school student leaders to engage with their organization and “hear from powerful, dynamic, and engaging presenters that specialize in communicating positive messages to today’s youth.”  Students can register here:  https://cldinc.org/program/5th-power-conference/. May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Since its inception in 1949, Mental Health Awareness Month has been a cornerstone of addressing the challenges faced by millions of Americans living with mental health conditions. On May, 14th, 15th & 16th – during lunches -Your School Social workers, The Bring Change 2 Mind Club, &  NAMI, Teen Responders- will have resources and activities to destress, play, and take care of your mental health. Along with resources. Additional groups – Love on a Leash therapy dogs and Yoga by Creative Nature – will also be involved & present. This year, NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) is celebrating Mental Health Awareness Month with the Take the Moment campaign. We encourage you to join us in fostering open dialogues, cultivating empathy and understanding. We also urge you to share our resources to support individuals and families on their journey towards mental wellness. Through “Take the Moment,” we shine a spotlight on NAMI’s array of signature programs including: NAMI BasicsNAMI Family-to-FamilyNAMI Family & FriendsNAMI HomefrontNAMI In Our Own VoiceNAMI Peer-to-PeerNAMI Support Groups and our invaluable NAMI HelpLine, which  is a free, nationwide peer-support service providing information, resource referrals and support to people living with a mental health condition, their family members and caregivers, mental health providers and the public.

TRAVELING: Are you interested in traveling abroad next summer? Join Ms.Halterman and Mrs.Peresie in Denmark, Norway, and Sweden next June! Bring your parents to the parent meeting on Wednesday May 1st at 6:30 pm. in the Community Rooms by the field house entrance.

MARIAN UNIVERSITY 21ST CENTURY SCHOLARS: is hosting our annual summer camp for 21st Century Scholars who are rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors. This camp will focus on completing their 21st Century Scholar High School Scholar Track requirements, ask any questions about 21st Century Scholars Program, visit a college campus, and participate in career exploration. We will also be going on lots of trips such as going to the Zoo, Children’s Museum, Career Fair, etc. And the camp is FREE!

SOLDIERS FOR CHRIST: We will be having a presale t-shirt sale starting Monday, April 29th– May 3rd. All proceeds will go towards summer events and food for our club. Money and orders can be taken to L649.
