Sophomores, you will participate in the Panther Exploration Project (PEP) this school year. PEP is an opportunity to select a topic of your choice to investigate, research, reflect and report on and present your project. What a great way to learn about a topic you have an interest in or a topic you want to learn more about! You will be assigned to a supervisor who will provide you with a PEP handbook and support and guide you through the project, in essence, be a mentor and a resource for you. Meetings with your supervisor will be virtual. Start thinking about a topic for your project. More information will be posted on this site very soon.
Sophomores, the Class of 2025 Grade Level Support Team wants to call your attention to a free service that is available to students. We know that balancing your schoolwork load and other responsibilities can be challenging, especially as your high school courses become more difficult.
AskRose.org is a free tutoring service available through Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. If you aren’t familiar with Rose-Hulman, it is a well-respected science and engineering college in Terre Haute, IN. Their students volunteer their time to tutor grades 6-12 students in math and science, via phone, email, and chat. Privacy is emphasized, and the tutors will not know your last name or contact information. They will also not just give you the answers…they will help you understand the material and guide you to the correct answer.
You can find more information online through AskRose.org, or by calling 877-ASK-ROSE (877-275-7673)
The available tutor hours are 3-5 PM Monday-Thursday, and 7-10 PM Sunday-Thursday.
