LOVE ON A LEASH THERAPY DOGS – MAY VISIT DATES. The amazing therapy dogs will be in the lower student center, during lunch pds. On the following dates. May 7th (Tues) 11:25 a.m.-12:55 p.m. & May 14th (Tues) 11:25. -12:55 p.m. & May 16th (Thurs) 12:30 p.m. -2:00 p.m. Come and reduce your stress by chilling with the pups!!

May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Since its inception in 1949, Mental Health Awareness Month has been a cornerstone of addressing the challenges faced by millions of Americans living with mental health conditions. On May, 14th, 15th & 16th – during lunches -Your School Social workers, The Bring Change 2 Mind Club, &  NAMI, Teen Responders- will have resources and activities to destress, play, and take care of your mental health. Along with resources. Additional groups – Love on a Leash therapy dogs and Yoga by Creative Nature – will also be involved & present. This year, NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) is celebrating Mental Health Awareness Month with the Take the Moment campaign. We encourage you to join us in fostering open dialogues, cultivating empathy and understanding. We also urge you to share our resources to support individuals and families on their journey towards mental wellness. Through “Take the Moment,” we shine a spotlight on NAMI’s array of signature programs including: NAMI BasicsNAMI Family-to-FamilyNAMI Family & FriendsNAMI HomefrontNAMI In Our Own VoiceNAMI Peer-to-PeerNAMI Support Groups and our invaluable NAMI HelpLine, which  is a free, nationwide peer-support service providing information, resource referrals and support to people living with a mental health condition, their family members and caregivers, mental health providers and the public.

CONGRATULATION: Two North Central seniors, Brian Adel and Jeremiah Cummings were invited to compete over Spring Break as free agents in the Roosevelt University Campus Series for eSports. They placed 3rd overall in Rocket League! This is a huge win for these students who are being scouted by schools for their eSports teams.  Please congratulate them when you see them!

NOBCChE MEETING:  If you are interested in a major or career that involves STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math), NOBCChE is the club for you.  Please join us for this meeting where the American Chemical Society will help facilitate yet another fun and educational lab experiment with our members and guests.  If you like hands-on chemistry lab experiments facilitated by chemists who are working and doing research in the field of chemistry, this is the meeting for you.  We will also collaborate on planning for the 2024-25 school year.  Snacks and late bus passes will be provided.  The last meeting of this school year will be our Celebration and End of Year meeting on Tuesday, April 30.

5TH POWER LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE: The Center for Leadership Development’s 5th Power Leadership Conference is open for registration. According to CLD’s leaders, this is an opportunity for high school student leaders to engage with their organization and “hear from powerful, dynamic, and engaging presenters that specialize in communicating positive messages to today’s youth.”  Students can register here:  https://cldinc.org/program/5th-power-conference/.
