Largest 1-Day Blood Drive in Indiana

North Central High School Hosts the Largest
One-Day Blood Draw in the State of Indiana

INDIANAPOLIS, IN (February 11, 2016) – The North Central High School senior class officers are hosting their annual blood drive on Friday, February 12 from 7:45am to 1:30pm at NCHS in the upper gymnasium. The Senior class officers, led by Senior Class Advisor Mrs. Leslie Decker are excited to announce that over 675 student donors are registered to give blood during the event tomorrow, making this the largest one-day blood draw in the state of Indiana.

Since 2009, the North Central blood drive has averaged 400 students each year donating an average of 300 units of blood. This year marks a record number of registrants for the event. The Indiana Blood Center needs to see 550 donors every DAY to keep up with patient need. This makes the North Central High School event a vital necessity to the Blood Center’s mission.

Senior Class Advisor Mrs. Leslie Decker is an English Teacher at North Central High School and enjoys working to help empower students to be contributing members of the community through events like the Senior Class Blood Drive.
