Jazz Cafe

NCHS Jazz Cafe on Friday, May 12th at 7:00pm. 

The North Central Cafeteria is magically transformed into the coolest jazz club in Indy for the night! The Jazz Ensemble, Jazz Lab Band, and almost 40 Jazz All Stars from various Middle Schools around the Township will be presenting a sensational evening of jazz entertainment featuring guest performer, Michael Stricklin. Michael graduated from the University of North Texas after studying saxophone with James Riggs. Michael toured and performed with various R&B and Jazz artists after graduation. In 1989, Michael’s path led him to Indianapolis where he recorded albums with his band “Time Out” and the Buselli-Wallarab Jazz Orchestra. Michael has performed as a guest musician with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, and other local symphonies. We are fortunate to host him here at North Central. 

As you may already know, The Jazz Ensemble was a State Finalist this year and has represented North Central exceptionally. For the young middle school student musicians joining us, it will be a great introduction to the vibrant, band community at North Central. The Jazz Cafe will be a night that the students and families will not forget!
